When Can You Start?

When?

Adventure Scuba Company’s beginning scuba courses are available in three different formats:

One-Weekend Course

With time such a critical factor in peoples’ lives these days, it’s no surprise that this course, which condenses all of the classroom and pool work into a single weekend, is our more popular.

  • This is a very intense learning experience; it’s not for everybody. There is little time for make-up work or to accommodate those who are having difficulty mastering skills a quickly as their fellow students.
  • You must complete all of the self-study material before the first class.
  • There is no time between class sessions to relax and absorb what you’ve learned.

To participate in the weekend course you must be at least 15 years old and very comfortable and relaxed in the water.

  • The first classroom session takes place Friday evening at Adventure Scuba Company from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.
  • The second classroom session takes place at Adventure Scuba Company at 2:00 pm Saturday. The first pool session runs from 5:00 to 7:00 pm the same day.
  • The final classroom session takes place at Adventure Scuba Company at 2:00 pm Sunday. The final pool session runs from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
  • Local open-water training dives are typically available the weekend following the last pool session (see schedule below) — or you can complete your training on one our of our Florida, Nassau or other trips.

Three-Week, Weeknight Course

If your schedule permits, this is arguably the best way to learn to dive.

  • Classroom and pool sessions are spread across a three-week time period. Sessions are shorter and less intense.
  • You needn’t have all of the self-study material completed before the first class.
  • There is time between class sessions to relax and absorb what you’ve learned.

People who take part in the three-week course frequently tell us they’re glad they invested the extra time to learn at a more relaxed pace.

  • Classroom and pool sessions take place Thursday evenings at Adventure Scuba Company from 6:30 to 11:00 pm.
  • Starting in April, local open-water training dives are generally available the weekend following the last pool session (see schedule below) — or you can complete your training on one of our group trips.
