Suunto Cobra 2 and
Vyper 2 Dive Computers
Now in their second generation, these two popular Suunto dive computers continue to offer all the features that made them bestsellers — like the state-of-the-art Reduced Gradient Bubble Model (RGBM) algorithm. In their new incarnations, both computers offer several advanced features, including:
- Electronic Compass and Tilt Sensor: Similar to the electronic compass found in Suunto’s D6 and D9 models, these new Suunto models incorporate a digitally accurate, electronic compass. Not only does this feature free you from having to have a separate mechanical compass, it also frees you from the leaking and sticking common to such instruments.
- Two-Gas Switching: Switch on the fly between two different mixes of air or Nitrox (up to 99 percent).
- Optional Deep Stops: Users can choose between two different versions of the RGBM algorithm, including one that allows for deeper stops during ascent.
- Advanced Matrix Display: Makes seeing and using the information you need easier than ever.
The Cobra 2 and Vyper 2 are very similar in terms of features … the chief difference being that, while the Vyper 2 is designed for use on the wrist or in a two-gauge console, the Cobra 2 is completely air integrated, with all data appearing on a single display.
