Local Diving Checklist

Millbook

It may have been a long, cold winter, but it’s finally over. Spring is here. summer’s just around the corner and now is the time to get ready for another local diving season. Tho help you get started, Adventure Scuba Company has put together a checklist of the things you should be doing right now.

  • Equipment Service: Regulators and BCs both need annual inspection and/or service. Dive computers need their batteries changed once a year. Cylinders need annual visual inspections. You don’t want to put any of this off until June, when the demands on our service department are at their peak. Get it done now.

  • Equipment Purchase/Replacement: It’s a scientific fact that wet suits shrink with age. (They must, because our bodies can’t possibly be getting any bigger…can they?) Now would be an excellent time to replace that worn out, hard-to-get-into wetsuit with something warm and stretchy — or maybe even a dry suit. And, if you’ve been postponing the initial purchase of any major equipment item, think of all the money you will save by not having to rent.

  • Training: Your equipment is not all that needs to be ready. You need to be ready as well. Has it been more than six months since you were last in the water? Sign up for one of our Scuba Tune Ups. Continuing education is a great way to upgrade your present skills. We have Advanced, Rescue and Specialty Diver courses taking place almost every weekend from now through Summer.
